when youre using a ping mask and lagging like crazy on everyone else's screen yet hitting every headshot and snapping to heads of pyros that are point blank burning you from behind, yea people aren't that stupid. I only needed to spec you for 5 minutes last night to see you staring at walls and perfectly following heads through them, that is when it didnt look like a slide show because your program does a really good job trying to throw off the stv

General Discussion / Re: Maps... The Everlong Battle.

I like the idea, some maps right off the top of my head that shouldn't even be tested because they're so unbalanced: Manngrove, Deadwood, great heights, pharaoh, and wintertown (basically a prophunt map with 30 second respawns for red). All these maps are pretty unbalanced and seem unfinished, manngrove and deadwood were removed from the voting all together back when we had the old voting system so idk why they're back on it.

Servers Feedback / Re: Custom Maps/Additional Maps on the Payload Server

I agree with the fact that the voter sticks to mostly badwater/goldrush and other stock maps for filling the server or if the server dips below whatever the value is set at. It's just when its at peak hours with mostly donators/regulars playing that a vote comes up with three stock maps, thats the real problem. I've even gone to that OTHER 32 person payload server when these votes come up because I know chances are they aren't playing some 6 year old stock map.

I agree completely, also a nominate function would be great, being that nominate has been a source mod feature forever i don't understand why it is so difficult to add it? I love those kinds of servers where you type "nominate" and there are about 10 pages of custom maps to choose from. Instead we have to settle for goldrush/upward/badwater/etc. and then maybe every now and then a custom map might sneak into a map vote. and why the hell is metro not on the list? blows my mind when I see an admin have to manually bring up a map vote for a map that seems widely enjoyed because its not even on the damn rotation. its 2015 we shouldn't need an admin to pull up map votes because the system that is already in place works so poorly. Considering how many people donate to this server, things should be improved.

+1, its 2015 and we play barnblitz, goldrush, badwater, and hoodoo way too often on a game with endless great custom maps. At least a nominate for the RTV menu please.

Good luck trying to get anyone banned for an aimbot here, no matter how obvious it is.

General Discussion / Re: Remove Random Critical Hits now in correct forum

You mean, like, for 24 player slot servers..... ;)

This is not a 24 slot server, so we already don't play it as designed!

Just saying.
Exactly. I'm not very pleased when i get a random crit that kills four people as opposed to actually killing them by outplaying them. Let skill decide who wins the fights, not randomness. And I don't think its fun when you're holding a point really well but a random crit sticky/pipe/rocket kills four people and causes you to lose when you were going to win. That's what the kritzkrieg is for, half the medics already use that most the time so i think there are plenty of crits flying around as it is.

Melee weapons are designed to crit far more often than ranged ones in order to encourage their usage at close range. Their base crit chance starts at 15% - higher than attainable for ranged weapons with the recent damage bonus maxed out - and their recent damage bonus scales from 0% to 45%, meaning a player that has done 800 damage or more in the last 20 seconds has a melee crit rate of 60%.
Therefore since they are based on damage done in the past critical hits help better players more which is ridiculous.
Yea melee crits are so stupid. A 60% chance of hitting for 195 is ridiculously unbalanced, even if people claim "Well everyone has the same chance" arguement it's still stupid to have them. Please disable them.

I say disable the random crits and see if it affects server traffic that much. If it does then enable them again. Random crits with 32 people is ridiculous and I think it would be a lot more fun without them. The amount of people who would come to the server as a result of no random crits might offset the losses from no quick play.

jp isn't another Nehalem who had no Competitive experience and went on 30+ killstreaks regularly. He isnt sporting a ridiculous K/D like Nehalem was. His profile is public and he obviously has years of experience at the highest level of TF2. I think by now if he was hacking all this time in highlander he would've been banned. This would make Hyperion look really bad if we went and banned people who are just really good.

He's just a platinum sniper who has nearly 1200 hours played on the class. Check his UGC profile:

Payload Server / Re: Map Suggestion
« on: December 13, 2014, 12:51:14 AM »
I'd like to try that out, I'd just be afraid if it were put on the payload server and it gets voted in right after playing regular badwater, people might get antsy.

Full Rotation Server / Re: A solution for the second server
« on: December 04, 2014, 08:41:12 PM »
Love playing on the rotation server, my one complaint is the ctf maps, I think they should all be taken off cause ctf just sucks. 2fort came on tonight which was hard to believe. They usually just hurt server population. Maybe just take out 2fort, doublecross is pretty bad too, but I don't mind Turbine.
