We've been playing with this idea for a bit, and we think it is ready to go into "alpha". Here comes the Verified Membership. What is Verified Membership (VM)?
VM is simply a way for us to reward players that enjoy playing on our servers. There's no donation required, no strings attached, or any obligations. We only ask that you meet the requirements below and that you verify your STEAM ID with us. Once you've been approved, you will receive all the benefits from being a VM.
How do you become a Verified Member?
Join our Steam Group: You can do so here (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/hyperiongaming). Register on our Forums: If you haven't done it already, click here (http://hyperiongaming.org/GameServers/forums/?action=register).Make a Post: You need to make a post in the Introduce Yourself (http://hyperiongaming.org/GameServers/forums/general-discussion/say-hello!/) thread.Request VM Status: Here's how to do it:
Visit your Profile (http://hyperiongaming.org/GameServers/forums/profile/) page.Under Modify Profile, click on Group Membership (http://hyperiongaming.org/GameServers/forums/profile/?area=groupmembership).Under Available Groups next to Verified Member, click on Request Membership.In the box, include the following: a link to your Steam Community page and your STEAM ID (visit www.steamidfinder.com (http://steamidfinder.com/))
Don't forget to give your Steam Community link and your STEAM ID. Failing to do so will slow down your membership approval. We will contact you if something is missing, and you may contact us if you're not sure how to either register or find the steam id/community id. You may contact us through this page (http://hyperiongaming.org/GameServers/forums/contact/).
The process is not yet automated, so it might take some time before your membership is approved.
What are the rewards?
Since the program is brand new, the rewards might change later on. Here's what you will receive once approved right now:
In-Game:
- Special tag in chat: a green * in front of your name in chat on our servers only.
- Disable Server Ads: All the website/servers ads will be hidden from view. Only the help ads like Type !gameme etc... will still be visible.
- Sprays enabled. You may use sprays. Keep in mind however that using any kind of porn, racist, offensive, and inappropriate sprays is forbidden. You will be warned, and you may lose access to sprays if you do.
- More later maybe.
Forums:
- Upload your own avatar/Link offsite. Finally, you can choose your own avatar on the forums. Rules still apply and no offensive avatars will be allowed.
- Group Name color: a Green color name everywhere on the site to distinguish yourself from non-members.
- Custom Text under Avatar: customize your profile a little bit more. (Rules still apply)
- Create Own Albums in Gallery. You may upload screenshots, pictures, sounds, in your own gallery. There are restrictions, and as usual offensive materials will be removed.
Upload Own files in Downloads. Same as the Gallery, but to upload small files. This feature is still in beta.
- Use the ShoutBox. You may post small shouts in the ShoutBox on the front page. Only members with access to it can use/read it. Avoid spamming, asking questions in the shoutbox.
Wait, there's one last thing.
After you have been approved to VM, you will receive an invite to a private steam group for our VMs and other regulars. We will use this group to post special events such as tournaments, updates and potential new rewards. You're free to decline the invitation.
