Post by: Twisted_Shadow on August 29, 2013, 05:00:10 PM
Question Chain and Plasma, Now that Linux Support is coming (I know its in Beta Currently though :P ), Once they iron out all the bugs and whatnot, Are you guys planning on TRYING to move the Server to a Linux Box?

I'm not sure yet. Honestly, it seems the Linux version is quite buggy and unstable right now.
The plan can change, but it's very likely we will need to get a separate server dedicated to NS2. Running it on our VDS isn't working out, tick rate is just all over the place, and I'd like to keep 20 slots.

I know things change pretty slowly, so just need to be a bit patient :)
If by then, it is shown performance on Linux is better then we would most likely switch if possible. One drawback to getting a separate server is we would need to change IP. We will have to make sure our regulars know about it.
