Greetings!
I've seen a fair number of people around with this error on their profile. Does anyone know what causes it/how to fix it/etc??
-
The full message is:
This user has not yet set up their Steam Community profile.
If you know them encourage him/her to set up their profile and join in on the gaming!
I see it all the time for new accounts.

Well, my account has existed since December 2003. The profile has been set up for a while. I did a save privacy settings to try and force it but no joy.
My profile is here: profile (http://steamcommunity.com/id/falconeer/)
Am I looking at the right thing?

Bizarre, I clicked your profile from your steamid and it works fine.

hmm at first it gave me an error but now it works...

Falconeer, are you talking about your Steam profile over at steampowered.com or the Steam profile link we're using here on the forums? (That shows your current Steam status in your posts?)
I can see your steampowered profile fine, but our steam link plugin here on the forums is sometimes broken. I'm not entirely sure why it works for some people and not others.

The Steam profile link in posts is what I was referring to (sorry to not reply sooner!).
It's not a priority, but if anyone ever wants to look into it I'll be happy to help debug.

Yea, sadly, the addon we're using to display someone's Steam status is quite old and its author is not working on it anymore. It's the best we have access to for these forums. SMF is a great free tool, but it's getting old. I still want to create a brand new site, with actual web2.0 features, including logging through Steam, etc...
For now though, this site does it work well enough. And the most important for us is to make sure we have your SteamID if you're a VM or Donor (that's why there are 2 SteamID fields in the forum profile :) )
