Truithfully I don't think all the problem was due to the servers. I had several client crashes just after the update and doing a disc defrag fixed it. I witnessed a crash this afternoon. Only 2 others and I were left on the server after everyone else crashed. They came back online pretty fast though but by then it was too alte and those of us that were left (all on the blue team) got the cart to the final cap point and won the round. Might want to let the others know about this Plasma, whenever there is any update to any of theior games they should defrag their harddrive.

We know Valve has released several bad updates since Thursday that were the cause of the clients and servers crashing randomly. Since then, Valve fixed the server crash issues, but has yet to fix the client crashes.

Valve said they are aware of it, and are working on it full-time. We expect (hope) a new patch today, that will fix the random frequent client crashes. We'll keep you updated.

Since I ahve defragged my computer I only crashed one time while playing and that was due to my antivirus going nuts over an e-mail message.

Sadly, even after this update, about 50% or more of the server is crashing to desktop at the same time...... !

My Steam client is freezing just trying to install the automatic update :(

I'll see if it has resolved itself after work, and give TF2 another run.  See if I can go more than 30 minutes without my screen going green/purple and being sent to my desktop lol.

Valve released a client patch this morning (100MB), and a server-side patch around 5PM. Both servers are up to date and have been stable for a couple of hours. I still hear reports of client crashes, so we might see another update tomorrow.

Overall, it seems like the worst is over... Get ready for the Halloween update and it's spooky server crashing bugs!   :-X
