I have been playing on the server for a little while now, so I decided to make a post myself!

My name is Matt, I'm from Orange County, California. I have been playing TF2 off and on for 4-5 years now. Whenever I am active, I always find one server that has a good community and I came across Hyperion. I have been enjoying myself in the server, the atmosphere is pretty chill and have been making some friends along the way. I refuse to play on any other server now!

Hi all.

I've been playing TF2 for many years. I tend to find one group and play their servers exclusively. Once again my (current) regular TF2 server (Had several over the years.) is going to hell in a hand basket. So I've been playing Hyperion for a short while now and think this will be where I hang my hat from now on.

I have enjoyed (most of) my time playing with the people here. (Hate when we have 5 snipers and 3 spies for example.) I really like when all the people who actually try for the objectives and understand class balance are on, keeping TF2 fun.

Just call me Wolf in game if you like, all my friends do. (I prefer it actually.)

Anyway, hope to enjoy many great games with you all.

I'd like to fancy that some of you may know me already. My name's DScarface and I've been playing in Hyperion's TF2 servers since late 2011 and I was introduced to HG by my college buddy (WeiHans). I main Solly, Heavy, or Engie but I mess around with the other classes if I'm not worried about my K/D ratio .

Anyhoo I look forward to playing more games with you guys! The level of competition and the sense of community while playing is what makes me keep on coming back.

To reply to witchthewicked's request:
The forums were swarmed by spam bots trying to sell us furniture, cheap drugs and easy $5,000 / hour jobs. We had to make the CAPTCHA verification harder for new members and guests. After posting only twice on these boards, you won't ever have to pass through CAPTCHA. Now, I admit 4 CAPTCHA is too much, so I lowered it to medium difficulty CAPTCHA and 2 verification questions instead of 3.

Then, our forums were also hacked, so we've decided to make sure our users had more complex password in case it happened again, even though user passwords are not stored in plain-text in our databases. All passwords are hashed, and thus would be very difficult to uncover even with full access to our database. The idea was to try to add an additional layout of security. (As usual, don't use your GMail or Bank password on any other site, including this one. These open-source free community forum software like SMF aren't hacker-proof, hence why you should not post information you don't want other people to know and why all our payment transactions are made through Paypal, on their portal.) I understand it is frustrating to make a new password each time, especially with random symbols, upper-cases, etc... for yet another forums, so I've removed the need to use very complex passwords.

However, I would still advise everybody to use long and complex passwords, even if it's just one upper-case and one number!
