Did the Rotation Server Die??

I actualy enjoy the rotation server myself but everytime I hit it noone is there. What happened?

I'm curious as to the reason as well. Let me know if you figure that one out!

Plasma and I usually seed the server, but we've been busy recently with the website and other stuff. Also, we put the mapchooser back on rotation, but it seems to have made things worse since the server now stays on strange maps when empty.

I've just disabled the end of map vote. It'll follow the map cycle like it did before, but you can still rtv to start a map vote. Lets see how that goes.

Thanks Dave. Once I get a chance I will hit the rotation server and sit on it until we get a few players. Been going to others seeing as your payload one has been full but would rather play on the Hyperion ones as they are closer to me.

As said previously, we've been focusing on the Payload the most because it was the first server we created. Rotation server was created to attract a different crowd than the 24/7 payload. We know what works with Payload, but we don't yet know what works for Rotation. We're experimenting a bit with map rotation and such. As Dave said, lately, we've been busy on other projects.

If you guys want to see the Rotation server full again, I'm afraid the only solution is to log in even though it's empty and try to wait until more players show up. That's seeding.

But that's only a temporary solution, because seeding is not fun and kinda feels like wasting time. I really want the Rotation server to be as popular as the Payload. Map rotation is probably the most important. Player count might play a role too. A 32 player dustbowl might not be appealing for some players. Etc...

I still need a couple of days to finish this project, then I'll try to figure this out with Dave and the other admins. In the meantime, I'll try to seed a bit more.

Cool I will check what other servers are using as maps and let you know what seems to be working. I know a lot of people like the Egypt themed one. So far that is my fav too.

Currently egypt is not in the rotation, except as a vote option in rtv. But if people like that much we can add it to the rotation.
