i dont do TOO well. im a newbfoarleif. All you got to do is predict. Its easy to predict explosions like nades, stickies, and rockets. Pyros cant do **** if they have burn abuse tactic like degreaser, flare, and axtenguisher. Pyros with the mini crit shotgun (cant remember name), can really hurt me. The ones i have problems with is Heavies too :'( Typically with Heavies I need 2 crits to kill him. 234 each crit. 234x2=468 enough. Get your first crit with the shield and second, if your lucky, random crit. That what i like about the skullcutter. The raw damage. 78 vs 65 of normal melee. 2 swings from the skullcutter to a full hp medic (150) will kill him while the 65 damaging melee weapon cant do that. It takes 3 hits to kill 200hp soldier (78x3=234) while the 65 damage melee you need 4(65x3=195). And 300 hp heavies take just 4 hits (78x4=312) while 65 damaging melee you need 5 (65x4=260). So definitely knowing how many hits you need to kill and comparing to your hp to see if you can achieve it is a plus.
But if isee alot of armor and tanking going on (alot of heavies with medics), I got splendid + caber. Sure a heavy taking a 150 damage caber and shrugging it off. But crits is destroys them. Assume heavy is overhealed to the max (450). Crit caber 300+splendid shield bash 85=385 . It wont kill him but everyone around him yes and will retreat.
