Machina (tracers) vs. Regular Sniper Rifle
« on: August 03, 2012, 04:18:52 PM »
I've used the machina for the longest time for the random "double" kills that you can get in one shot, but I recently switched to the vanilla sniper rifle and found it MUCH easier to snipe with.  Does anyone else experience this?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like I sometimes have to "lead" my shot in with the machina cause of the tracer illusion.

Or maybe I'm just lagging along a bit too lol

I've experienced the same thing with the machina. It feels like the bullet has to travel, whereas with the regular sniper rifle your shot hits instantly. That's why I also just stick with the regular sniper rifle.

So weird.  I keep trying to train my "eyes" to acknowledge that the bullet travels just as fast but that DAMN TRACER keeps throwing me off lol

I started noticing this fairly recently as well. The tracer does have a slight time delay. Multiple times I have missed kills by a hair-length from a great distance when I know what I was spot on. Overall though, I enjoy the damage output of the Machina and the double kills it can grant but it makes me want to experiment with regular rifles.

I used to love the Machina... because I still want the Sniper to get some kind of real Railgun weapon. The Machina is close, especially with the penetration shot, but let's face it, it doesn't happen often enough to be a big plus compared to not being able to noscope.

The regular Sniper Rifle is still one of the best snipers obviously. I really like the Heatmaker, as it forces you to aim for the head (compared to bodyshot-machina). I've been trying to use the Baazar lately... and sometimes it's great and I can keep enough heads... but sometimes I'm terrible and can't even keep 1-2 heads.

I never really noticed that Machina tracer lag though.
