Full Rotation Server / Re: The rotation
« on: September 06, 2011, 03:59:11 PM »
I would suggest that we add cp_egypt. I always found it to be a really entertaining map and never understood why so few servers run it.
Also, I would say that in general, the server map time limits should be raised, maybe to 45 minutes, because often each team only gets one go as each color, which seems like a shame. Or if you go with an even longer server time, then a round limit would even things out for maps like 2fort.

Payload Server / Re: Payload Maps
« on: September 06, 2011, 03:56:01 PM »
The only maps I generally have a problem with are the PLRs, which I think are really frustrating and end in draws rather too often, or in one team completely destroying the other.

It may not be a great idea to have maps in the rotation that aren't part of TF2 (i.e. ones players would have to download from us) because I almost always immediately disconnect if I have to download a new map. Unfortunately, this is because usually these maps are not very well made (especially since the good ones are recognized by Valve and added as community maps).
However, I think the less-played pl maps would be a great idea to have promoted from time to time so that it's not just badwater and goldrush the whole time.

General Discussion / Re: Introduce Yourselves

Hello everyone, I am T-Shirt Ninja.
I've played TF2 since it came out (well, nearly), and I had a brief spell of CS:Source back there at some point. TF2 is about the only multiplayer FPS I play, as I tend to prefer strategy games on the whole. If anyone is interested in RTS or turn-based games, let me know, I can see if we can set up some games. Also, I play World of Tanks.
I belonged to another clan, All Hardware, until it imploded earlier this year, where I was an active member and was awarded admin privileges for it.
I will be playing a lot less in a few weeks, when the fall quarter (yes, quarters, I go to UC San Diego, we're weird like that) starts, as I will have an extremely full class schedule on top of work. Until then, I will see all of you around in game quite a bit!

Servers Feedback / Re: Something strange...

Everyone did notice the effect, at least on my team. Nobody on the other team would say anything. I think it sometimes seemed like it wasn't doing anything, but sometimes there were definitely mini-crits happening. So I honestly can't tell you for sure if it was an actual effect.

I had a very weird experience in the payload server... The other team had buffs from something or other at nearly all times, although it didn't appear to matter if they were close enough to a soldier or not. Also, some players who were near other players with the buff weren't showing a buff for them. Oh, and by buff I mean something like a soldier's buff banner.
Here's a video:

I can't tell if it's actually a buff or a graphical glitch, because several of the soldiers do in fact have buff banners and the like, so there's some of the genuine stuff mixed in, but it definitely seems out of place.

Servers Feedback / Payload rotation problem
« on: September 02, 2011, 12:26:57 AM »
So I was just playing on pl_upward on the payload server, when the server map time expired. Normally this would mean that the map will change at round end, but on upward it always cuts the round short, and the team with the most points wins by default. Just checking that you guys are aware of the problem.

I would consider capping engineers as well, because having 5 or 6 engineers can put a complete halt to a team that doesn't do things exactly right. Maybe a cap at 4 engineers? I know that I can usually push through 4 sentries on a single uber, so a halfway competent team should be able to deal with it.

Suggestions / Re: suggestion

I've been thinking about this as well, and I think it would be an excellent way to get our name out there when we're not playing on the Hyperion servers, as well as letting people know who are members when we are, especially if there's a need for an admin. In that vein, I would also suggest two slightly different prefixes, one for admins, one for regular members. Maybe something like HG|T-Shirt Ninja for members and {HG}T-Shirt Ninja for admins?

General Discussion / Re: hello

Hello!
I just wanted to introduce myself without starting a spam of new threads for the same topic. I've played TF2 nearly since it came out. I was in All Hardware (until it imploded about 6 months ago), and I've been sort of looking around for a new place to hang out. Since you guys are a new group, I think that'll be nice so I won't be the only new one around.

See you in game!
