Admin Application
Hi guys. We are looking for admins for our servers for all time zones.
An admin's main responsibility is to keep the server enjoyable for our players. An admin is also a community member and a representative of HyperionGaming.
What we're looking for in an applicant:
- Consistency and activity: You need to have played on our servers for at least 30 days and accumulated at least 24 hours of game time on our servers.
- Experience playing TF2/NS2: In order to catch cheaters, you need to know what is and isn't possible in TF2/NS2 and FPS games in general
- Maturity
- Good Written Communication Skills: i.e. You should be able to chat with players without pissing them off
An admin's responsibilities include:
- Enforcing the server rules
- Watching out for cheaters and exploiters. This sometimes requires spectating
- Monitoring voice comms and chat for spam and bad language
- Assisting players in-game when possible
Your level of commitment is entirely up to you. If you're committed to being an admin, you'll go further and gain more responsibility.

Although I would like to be an admin due to my work I cannot. I work offshore and cannot guarantee to be online a lot. When we are stopped that is when I can play the game or when I am off the boat. Hopefully you can find some good people for this.

Even though I don't have many hours on the Hyperion Server. I hope to be an admin and build up my 24 hours on Hyperion. I still have more than 200 hours on TF2 and hope to be an admin.

Good Morning Admins.
I would love to introduce myself, my name is Bryan (age 25) I go by the name of [NRG] El Mas Magnifico, My time zone is PST. I would love to be a part of the admin staff on the Team Fortress 2 servers on hyperion. although i do lack in playing time but that will change if you guys are interested in me.

(I have almost 4 thousand hours of gameplay. i am very familiar with the game)

( I know I'm Very well Matured, that's one of my keys on leading a very successful clan/group)
Good Written Communication Skills: i.e. You should be able to chat with players without pissing them off
( Right, that is a part of being mature about things)
Enforcing the server rules
( that would be the best thing, doing something about it)
Watching out for cheaters and exploiters. This sometimes requires spectating
( yes, that is what i do at times, sit in spectating mode and scout a player, watching out for cheaters and exploiters should no be a problem)
Monitoring voice comms and chat for spam and bad language
( Monitoring voice and comms is the easiest part, it's a part of the game, it's hard not to notice it)
Assisting players in-game when possible
( I'm familiar with that, i assist my friends all the time)

You don't have to post here when you've submitted your application.
When it's submitted, it is sent to a board on these forums, and full admins have access to it.
In the past, we didn't always respond to applications, except when it was approved. We've received quite a lot of applications the last two weeks, so it will take time for us to go through them all. If we don't reply after a long time, it's possible we've already filled the available positions, and that we're keeping your application for a later date.

I've applied for the NS2 admin about a week ago and have yet to get a response, recent strikes of trolls have been really hurting the server as this is considered by them "the adminless server"
If apps are closed, then where are the admins?

We've received a few this week, and we're currently reviewing them.
I'm aware we've been hit badly by trolls. We'll try to speed things up on our end, as it's becoming urgent.

Though I believe I qualify, how do I know for sure? I'm used to using "time wolf" in-game on other servers to get server time. Doesn't work here. :(

The way to tell is to visit our GameMe stats page: http://stats.hyperiongaming.org/
Search for your name or SteamID and then click your profile.
For example: http://stats.hyperiongaming.org/playerinfo/1
Connection Time: 114 days 06:27:35 hours
You can also use the activity graph to show if you've been playing for at least a month.

Our next scheduled hiring of new admins is October 31st.
We're looking for players who:
- gets along well with others
- good people (very skilled players are nice, but more important is that they fit with our current group)
- players who play a lot
- different timezone/sleep cycle is a plus. Players who play other times of the day, than the standard PrimeTime slot of 5pm-11pm PST.
- has been playing in the servers for awhile
- our regulars are familiar with said person.

Thank you to all who applied! We appreciate your time and dedication to make Hyperion a great server to play in!
We have looked at each application and generated reports of TF2 playtime & HG Server playtime, and have also looked at login times to see what time the applicants usually play. We also review chat history, player feedback, etc.
Out of the 10 new applications we received, there are 2-3 applicants that play on the times we need more admin coverage. So if you're not accepted, it's because we have enough admins that play on that same time slot. However even if you don't become an admin you can still contribute to the server by:
- being active on the forums
- suggesting server changes
- reporting griefers/hackers/spammers
We are also looking for someone who can write/edit Source code for plugins and addons.

Right, you can send your application at any time. We usually don't reply unless we have more questions, etc... When we need new admins, we review all applications; we keep all of them.

Yes, we still have your app. There's no need to re-submit another one, except if there are big changes to your schedule, server preference etc...

Yes, that's the correct link.
As usual, you can PM me if you want confirmation we received your application, but don't be alarmed if we don't give you a reply right away or at all. At times, we get a lot of applications, and sometimes we don't have a lot of positions to fill.
However, we keep all submitted applications, so if a spot does open up, we go back and look at all apps. Right now, I need to look through our current staff roster and decide. The problem is the CP server has been empty most of the time. Most new positions would be to help fill the 2nd server, instead of Payload. Anyway, this is something you need to think about when submitting your application, and selection which server you'd prefer being an admin on.

The link for apps isnt loading or something so ill submit here, ive been playing on your server for a bit now. saw the ad for admins. I was an admin on a CS:Source server a while back, liked the responsibility. my admin duties would be for the weekend during the night hours mostly. i like the people that play there and im very biased and a "to each his own" kind of person so i wont butt heads with any people. A note concerning admin application status as of August, 2014:
FOR TF2:
We're not actively looking for new admins right now, the reason is our 2nd server isn't active at all. We need to take new actions to try to get more players there, but right now it's completely dead. If we manage to get more traffic on the 2nd server, we'll then need new admins.
FOR NS2:
We're still looking for new admins, BUT, applications are currently semi-frozen. The main reason is it will depend on the NS2 player base as well as its devs. Basically, the game's future is not very bright. What it means for our NS2 admin apps is that we're not actively looking nor contacting applicants. Focus is more on TF2 for now.
HOWEVER, we keep all applications, so if you're interested to become an admin, it's still worth it to submit an application. When we do need to recruit more help, we go over all applications and we'll contact you then. You can then let us know if you're still interested or not.
We do not contact all applicants! If you don't receive a reply from us, it either means we're not looking for new admins at the time, or your application wasn't convincing/what we're looking for. If you're worried your application didn't go through, please send me a PM and I'll let you know.
