Just my two cents as well, I agree with rotation vs voting, keeps it fresh for regulars. Looking forward to CP maps as well!

There's that one small square map that kills the server, forgot what it's called, that I think should get less play.
I also think that CP would be a nice addition because it breaks the monotony sometimes. But I can see how that could disturb a very good balance that Hyperion has garnered over the X amount of time. I don't think it could break the servers but it would be a risk. I'm sure the regulars wont mind, but the major "random" traffic would most likely go elsewhere.
But yeah, I welcome CP with open hands

Is it a plr map? hightower? We've already made it pretty hard for the plr maps to pass a vote. There might be a bug though, if you notice a plr map passes a vote, try to note how many votes it got.
As for CP maps, we had this discussion before. The Payload server is obviously Payload maps only, but Payload Votation can be changed a bit. We tried different setups in the past, and unfortunately, none were very successful. Our regulars always seem to prefer playing on the Payload server or PL maps.
We could definitely try to have a PL/CP map rotation on the Votation server in January if you guys are interested. What we don't want to see is a server nobody wants to play on, or remains empty all day because that means it's useless.

Yeah! Hightower. That map... (I'll report if I see anything... unusual)
Oh, I see. Yeah, that makes sense given how your servers run. I wouldn't want to mess with the formula either, but I'm definitely up for some CP if you're going to try that option again.

we totally need more diversity on the maps. i suggest forcing the rotation.
if you admins are worried about a few people not getting their precious goldrush or badwater, theyll still totally get it when the rotation goes to their favorites anyway.
also my asterisk is gone D:

We agree and that's why we are currently voting on a bunch of custom payload maps in another thread.
For now, the next map will still be decided by a vote. We can balance our map selection plugin by having custom maps come up more often and be easier to pass than badwater if it has been played like 3 times already. We can make these tweaks.
As for your asterisk, check your PM.

I would like to see a better voting system, because it most always is badwater/goldrush. The other day it was badwater/goldrush/badwater/goldrush/badwater/goldrush, 3 times in a row! I just donated and this is my first post, looking forward to playing here often.

Hey Speedily,
Welcome and thank you very much for your donation!
We are aware that badwater and goldrush are played often --too often! We've added 3 new custom maps, and we're planning on adding a few more soon. That should hopefully provide a bit more diversity. We've also added back pl_thundermountain (we had to remove it because of server crashes).
We tweak our mapvote system frequently, but it's never perfect. In the end, players on the servers have the last say when voting. We'll try to make it harder for badwater to pass if goldrush was played recently and vice-versa. That should help a little.

I would like to see map vote suspended for a week, This will cause people actually play the new maps
from start to finish a few times before being able to vote. Now people just vote em down because they are new.
