Natural Selection 2 Released! Join Our New Server!

Ten years after the release of the original mod, Natural Selection 2 is finally available in Steam! If you're not familiar with the first game, NS2 is an asymmetrical tactical F[dot]irst Person Shooter with a mix of Real Time Strategy[/dot]. Woa, this sounds too complicated already. Where's the cart I need to push to make things explode? Well, think of NS2 as Starcraft the FPS.

Playing as the Marines, you need to stick together to get resources to help your commander improve your weapons and armor. The Kharaa play very much like Aliens from the movies. Crawling through vents, hiding in the shadows and waiting for a marine to get separated before biting his head off. Yes, it is very satisfying. The Real Time Strategy element comes from each team's commanders. The player acting as the Commander gives his team commands, builds structures, etc... much like in a Starcraft game.

We have opened one NS2 server with 16 slots located in San Jose, CA.

There is a learning curve to NS, and watching the tutorial videos provided in-game helps a lot to understand the gist of things. If you enjoy multiplayer shooters involving teamwork and tactics, I highly recommend giving NS2 a try. It's also one of the best asymmetrical shooters I've ever played.

Haha, well, it's going to be very difficult with only one server with 16 slots.
We still have our TF2 regulars and fans to keep happy!

Besides, there aren't any hats to craft in NS2...

For now, there's no way to have some kind of reserved slots, so you have to wait in the queue when the server is full.

Haha, well, maybe they'll have a 50% off sale for Xmas. I don't know.
It's a really good multiplayer game, and I've been playing more NS2 than TF2, even with the Halloween event. Obviously, it's an indie title, so you won't see a lot of advertising for it and most likely none of your friends are playing it, but we have a server. So, if you guys somehow get a copy of the game and want to give it a try, you know where to find us. We'll be adding stats very soon.
