Will Hyperion Payload Server be the Rank # 1 server in TF2?!

Can you imagine how difficult it is to do any sort of maintenance on these servers? There's always people playing on them! I have to set my alarm at 4am... and even then, they're still not empty!

Right now, there's a new update, so the servers will be restarted soon.
Then, we've had very low traffic in the morning/early afternoon the past few days. There has been a lot of new PC game releases lately, and I suspect a lot of people are playing these games for now. We had these big traffic drop in the past, let's just hope it doesn't last too long.

It's a lot of work, but it's also really fun and rewarding. We're a small community compared to giants like Lotus/Skial, yet we have some of the best players among our regulars. There's a lot of competition out there to attract all of you guys, so we're always feeling lucky and proud to see so many people returning on our (very few haha!) servers!

It's so cliche, but we wouldn't be doing what we do without you guys!

I just want to say that ever since I found this server I've always regarded it as a competitive server. I would play on the other "fun" servers and the stock Skial/OP/etc., and the competition there would be average with a slight chance of someone really good hopping on. I'd come to Hyperion to test my skills because I really found it challenging at first. I'd finish games as a Soldier with like a 9/30 KD and felt useless haha but over time this server has improved my skills and my game. I'm finally enjoying myself on this server and I feel comfortable playing on it, and when I hop on to the other servers I'd play on, I am amazed at how average the player base can be.

So thank you guys, you really make this server fun and challenging (at least for me). And I hope we get even more amazing players so that skill curve never drops too low
There's really nothing quite like getting pummeled by someone good and then re-spawning and accepting that challenge to best them.
Live for that stuff!

I agree with you.  The overall skill from our regulars is the best I've seen as far as pubs go.  Sometimes we get competitive, but I'd say most of the time I'm just having fun =p

Hehe I have to get on your level to say that, but for now, there is definitely a lot of fun and competition for me It's not like other servers where the number one tactic is run and gun. Players actually set up good defenses and you have to think a little before charging in. Spices things up.
Best fun I've ever had on TF2 anyway.

Comp is just so... analytical to me. There's so much precision going on over there that you can't just jump in and play. I go on lobby sometimes and man... whole different world out there. Not as much fun either.

Whenever I join they complain about whatever class I play. I play demo they complain about spam, I play spy they complain about backstabs, I play sniper they complain about headshots. And they always say "well demo is easy to play"... bunch of real riots of there.

atleast on hyperion people put up a good fight.

lol I told players in Skial once, if they keep complaining about my playing demo they should join a server where there's 8 of me on the team and see how much harder it is lol. I managed to get a few players to add me, now they play on hyperion. give them a taste of what a real server feels like... lol
