Donors ability to stay in spectaor indefinitely.

First off let me say that I love this server and it is the only I play on.
With that out of the way I find it irritating that donors can stay in spectate for hours on end filling a slot on the server that could be used by an actual active player. I understand why WE donors would want the ability to remain in spectate if we need to go afk for 10-15 minutes but if you are away for longer than that I would say it would be polite to disconnect and let your slot be filled by an active player. Disconnecting would not effect you at all because WE have reserved slots anyway and are only one command away from joining.

I agree. I think we need to implement a time limit, but make it a decent amount, without crippling one team for too long. I always seem to end up on the short team...

I had to kick someone, who is on my friends list last night because they where in spec for at least an hour. I thought that was more than fair.

It's just not fair to the team that gets short changed.....it can make all the difference in a round, that 1 player. (Especially if it's a good player that can join, ya know, one who tries...)

Yes. I would want the system to kick me sometimes i think i am going to be back in a few minutes but dont. But i do, however, want to extend the time for an afk goes into spectator. I sometimes go to the restroom and come back to be in spectator and have to join the opposite team because there is no more room in the original team i was in.

A 30 min kick timer would work fine for donors.

I'm guilty of alt tabbing and getting distracted, rejoining isn't a big deal anyways..

Alright, it should be possible.

Let's start with 20min AFK time for Donors/Admins. If it's still too much, we'll go down to 15min, but that's the minimum. Immunity from the AFK kicker is part of Donor memberships. Though I do understand the need for some limit, especially with the popularity of the Payload server.

So I've run into some issues here, I'll need to use a different AFK manager to place a 20min AFK limit for Donors. I'll update this post when I've found a solution.

I'm a donor and I think a 30 minute time limit is fair.
Even 15-20 minutes should be sufficient.

yea, even 15 minutes is sufficient for me Before, i would stand in spawn just changing my loadout, and once i was done, i was already down to 30 seconds before i was off to afk. Glad to see the changes phasma

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a good way to do this yet. Donors are still currently immune to the AFK Kicker plugin. I basically need to find a plugin that discriminates between three player groups: regular players, Donors and Admins. Right now, the current plugin only differentiates two groups: admins and non-admins. I had to tell the plugins that anybody with the reserved flag is an admin basically.

I'm sure such a plugin exists somewhere. It might be pretty easy to hack it in into the current plugin and that would be the best solution, unfortunately, I don't know any programming. Anyway, I'll keep looking and will update here when I've found another plugin that fits the bill.

It's not worth spending any time "fixing" it. If somebody is afk we can always do a quick
vote kick.
